Cleaning Monitors has not been evaluated by Clinical Consultants of DENTAL ADVISOR. It was chosen as a Clinical Problem Solver by consensus of the Editors.
Problem
We use the aluminum foil test to check efficacy of our ultrasonic cleaner. Unfortunately small foil fragments get left in the tank, requiring additional cleaning or retrieval prior to retesting.
Solution
A more efficient solution to test the function of your ultrasonic cleaner is to use Hu-Friedy’s Cleaning Monitors. These assure that the ultrasonic unit is functioning at the highest level of effectiveness. Cleaning Monitors assess cavitation, time, temperature, and detergent load of each cycle quickly and effectively. Our Microbiology lab found that use of the HuFriedyGroup’s Ultrasonic Cleaning Monitors and Washer-Disinfector Cleaning Monitors appeared to provide an effective method for assessing the effectiveness of ultrasonic and instrument washer cleaning processes.
