Description
DEFEND+PLUS Sterilization Pouches feature water-based, lead-free built-in external and internal indicators that ensure the proper sterilization temperature is reached in the autoclave chamber, as well as inside the instrument compartment. There is no need for additional internal indicator strips. These pouches have triple-sealed seams with a thumb-notch for easy opening.The blue-tinted, transparent film assists in detecting tears should they occur. In addition, these pouches are constructed of durable medical grade paper and are sturdy when wet. DEFEND+PLUS Sterilization Pouches are available in 200-count boxes in five sizes: 2.75″x10″, 3.5″x5.25″, 3.5″x10″, 5.25″x10″ and 7.5”x13”. DEFEND+PLUS Sterilization Pouches were evaluated by 38 consultants in 5400 uses. The product received a 92% rating.
Product Features
Consultants liked the choice of sizes and the ease of use of DEFEND+PLUS Sterilization Pouches. Many consultants reported that the pouches were resistant to ripping and to instrument “poke-through.” The thumb notch makes it easy to peel the package open, even with gloved hands. Consultants recommended making the indicator colors more intense to aid visual confirmation at a glance. Consultants liked the presence of both internal and external indicators. Sixty percent of consultants reported that DEFEND+PLUS Sterilization Pouches were better than their current sterilization pouches and 34% reported that they were equivalent. Sixty percent would switch to DEFEND+PLUS Sterilization Pouches and 82% would recommend them.
