Description
Enamel Pro Varnish is a 5% sodium fluoride varnish that also contains ACP (amorphous calcium phosphate). It is indicated for the treatment of dentinal hypersensitivity and for the reduction of post-operative sensitivity.
Product Features
Packaging, instructions and ease of use received the highest ratings from consultants. Patients liked both of the flavor choices. The smoothest application occurs when the teeth are thoroughly air dried as recommended by the manufacturer; otherwise, if applied to wet teeth, the varnish goes on sticky and clumpy. Patients commented on the waxy feeling of the varnish. Sixty-six percent of the consultants rated Enamel Pro Varnish the same as or better than their current fluoride varnish. Fifteen percent of consultants would switch and 44% would recommend Enamel Pro Varnish to their colleagues.
Clinical Tips
Isolate or lubricate the lips to prevent the varnish from sticking to them.
Teeth should be air dried for optimal application.
Apply quickly and try to keep saliva off the brush as long as possible.
Avoid use of other fluoride preparations, such as fluoride gels, during the same day.
