Evaluators’ Comments

  • “Good wettability and handling.”
  • “Its viscosity and low film thickness allow for a fast, smooth, and even spread over the prepared surface.”
  • “A great product for direct bonding of restorations.”
  • “Well designed bottle eliminates waste. Excellent fast, and even spread over the surface. No issues with any post-operative sensitivity.”
  • “This is the first bonding agent I’ve used in a long time that did not show me that white ‘shrinkage’ line.”

Description

K-Bond Universal is a universal bonding agent that combines the etch, primer, and adhesive resin in a single bottle. K-Bond Universal can be used on dentin and enamel for a variety of direct restorations.

Unique Attributes

  • Compatible with total-etch, selective and self-etch system
  • Suitable for direct and indirect bonding procedures
  • Homogeneous liquid
  • Initially begins as a hydrophilic material to flow into dentinal tubules then will become hydrophobic after light cure to ensure a reliable bond
  • Dual-cure capability without separate activator (pH 3.5)
  • Increased degree of conversion with 3 component initiation system
  • Aliphatic amine, instead of aromatic amine, helps product stability and color stability
  • Single drop system

Clinical Tips

  • Use small amounts of material because of its viscosity
  • Use one drop at a time; a little goes a long way
  • Multiple layers are needed for best strength
  • Important to air out after applying
  • Evaporates quickly in a dish, be careful

Indications

  • All classes of filling and repair with composite
  • Root surface desensitization
  • Sealing of cavities prior to cementation of amalgam restorations
  • Sealing of cavities and preparations of prepared teeth prior to temporary cementation of indirect restorations
  • Intraoral repair of existing composite, PFM, and all ceramic restorations with primer
  • Bonding of dual cure and chemical cure materials without activator
  • Cementation of indirect restorations of composite
