Description
Pixie Pearls Micro-Sphere Calcium Carbonate Prophy Powder is sodium- and sugar-free prophy powder that can be used with any prophylaxis air-polishing unit. It is designed to remove plaque, eliminate stains and leave the teeth brighter while not clogging lines or tips. The micro-sphere technology minimizes damage to enamel and does not cause pain during the procedure. Pixie Pearls is packaged in a 280 g bottle with attached product literature. Pixie Pearls was evaluated by 17 consultants in 438 uses. It received a 92% clinical rating.
Product Features
Pixie Pearls effectively removes light to moderate stain, and the spherical particles are kind to gingival tissues. Patients commented positively on lack of grittiness and lack of salty taste. As with all air polishing powders, some overspray occurs, and it can be difficult to rinse away after use. During the evaluation, Pixie Pearls did not cause any clogging of the handpiece tips. Fifty-nine percent of consultants reported that Pixie Pearls was better than their current prophy powder and 18% reported that it was equivalent. Seventy-six percent would switch to Pixie Pearls and 82% would recommend it.
