Description

MicroPrime G Gel is a desensitizing agent that contains both glutaraldehyde and HEMA to facilitate patient post-operative comfort. The gel is applied with a flocked applicator tip to make placement of the material easier. It works with most all cements and dentin bonding agents while not affecting their bond strength.

Unique Attributes

  • Contains glutaraldehyde and HEMA
  • Facilitates patient comfort
  • Compatible with popular adhesive systems, cements, and substrates
  • Antimicrobial

Clinical Tips

  • Use with rubber dam, if possible, to avoid soft tissue contact as it may burn the soft tissues
  • Proper suction and isolation of the area is advised as the gel does need to be rinsed well after placement
  • Express a small amount into the base of the preparation, and use the brush applicator to spread material
  • Use plenty of the gel; use the tip to swirl it around to cover the prep entirely
  • Do not dry teeth completely
  • Use full 30 seconds to scrub and apply two layers

Indications

  • Nonbonded and bonded applications
  • Placement under dental cements or other restorative materials-temporary, provisional or final
  • May be used to eliminate post-operative sensitivity under amalgam restorations
  • Assists dentin bonding agents by supporting the collagen framework, thus making it easier for the adhesive to penetrate the tooth

Unique Attributes

  • Teeth do not have to be dry to apply – they can be moist.
  • Sets quickly in seconds after contact with saliva.
  • Enhanced flow characteristics to reach areas that otherwise may be missed.

Clinical Tips

  • To achieve optimum sensitivity relief, I found that two applications worked the best.
  • If too much is applied, it gets goopy when mixed with saliva. Therefore, when placing make sure to focus on applying a thin coat.
  • Be mindful of placement, as it can be a hassle to remove from soft tissues.
Take 1 Retraction Paste

Take 1 Retraction Paste

Overview

  • 34 Clinical Evaluators
  • 967 Total Uses
  • 87% Clinical Rating

Evaluators’ Comments

  • “The impressions obtained after using Take 1 were smooth and detailed.”
  • “The low viscosity is much better than Traxodent.”
  • “I do Cerec crowns every day and it achieves excellent hemostasis and retraction to view the crown margins.”
  • “I used Take 1 instead of a second cord in a two-cord technique. I hate packing cord and Take 1 eliminated the need for the second cord effectively.”
  • “Does not retract tissue as well as the current product I use.”
  • “The high viscosity was difficult to extrude, and the tip was too wide.”
  • “If the tissue was compromised, the margin was not always picked up in the impression.”
  • “Easy to apply and clean – excellent product.”

Indications

  • Both traditional and digital impressions
  • Veneer or crown cementation
  • Class II, Class III, and V restorations

Clinical Tips

  • If the patient has tight tissue, it is difficult to get the high-viscosity paste intra-sulcular. In these cases, it is better to use the “two-cord” technique replacing the second cord with the low-viscosity paste.
  • Take a pre-impression bite and then apply the Take 1 into the bite and reseat it for great hemostasis and retraction.
  • Use of compression caps greatly increases amount of retraction.
  • For the high-viscosity version, use a wet finger and pat in the material into the sulcus.
