Do you have any helpful hints for placing digital x-ray sensors that might be more comfortable for patients?
X-ray sensors usually feel more bulky and sharp to patients and are in some ways a step backwards from the smaller, more flexible films. Anything that can help position them more easily and properly can help patient comfort levels. One product, Uni-Grip 360 (DENTSPLY Rinn) is a new disposable x-ray holder for all areas of the mouth. It consists of four adhesive-backed arms that wrap around the sensor and can be re-positioned to fit any area of the mouth. It can rotate on its base and even slide past the end of its base, helping to place the sensor in harder to reach posterior areas. The holder also comes with infection control barriers.
