Description
Profisil Fluoride Varnish is a 5% sodium fluoride dimethicone gel that is easy to apply and leaves a smooth surface with no bitter aftertaste. Unlike many fluoride varnishes available, it does not contain ethyl alcohol or colophony (rosin), so it does not irritate soft tissues or trigger a potential allergic reaction. It is suitable for all patients above the age of 6 months and a prophylaxis cleaning and drying of the teeth are not required prior to placement. Its mechanism of action works by creating a protective coating over the tooth and occluding tubules with calcium fluoride crystals.
