Consultants’ Comments

  • “Patients become numb almost instantaneously.”
  • “I didn’t change the way I wait for the anesthetic to work, but at the end of the 5- minute period when the patient was asked if they felt numb, the overwhelming response was that they felt VERY numb. Every time I used BufferPro (mainly on lower blocks), I did not have to anesthetize again.”
  • “There are other things that require my attention after anesthetics. Time saving was never the priority but rather the benefits of buffering in chemical interactions.”
  • “My observation with this product is that it makes giving a lower block less painful and give deeper anesthesia.”
  • “Quick application, no expensive parts and components, pain free injections, and quick anesthesia.”
  • “Ease of use is incredible! Brilliant, no upfront expense, no bulky system that takes up space, and no $1000 expense.”

Description

BufferPro is a self-contained capsule of 0.1mL of 8.4% sodium bicarbonate solution that dispenses into a common dental anesthetic cartridge to increase the pH of the anesthetic. Each BufferPro capsule is individually packed in a foil wrapper, helping to avoid cross contamination and extending shelf life to 2 years. BufferPro offers easy application without additional equipment and simple clean-up by disposing the capsule into a sharps container.

Unique Attributes

  • One step, simple buffering
  • No mixing or measuring required
  • Sterile, single-packaged
  • Raises pH close to physiological levels
  • Can be used with any 1.7ml dental anesthetic cartridge and dental syringe
  • Invert the anesthesia carpule to mix the solution

Clinical Tips

  • Use the anesthetic cartridge immediately after using BufferPro and be sure to review the IFU.
  • After using BufferPro, the silicone plunger will slightly protrude from the anesthetic cartridge. This is normal and necessary for the anesthetic and sodium bicarbonate to properly mix. Tip the carpule back and forth with a rotating motion.
  • Great for use on children and nervous adults.
  • After mixed, be sure to check that your anesthetic carpule does not spill over or drip into the oral cavity.

Indications

Buffering of dental anesthetic cartridges to a pH close to natural physiological levels

G-CEM ONE™ – 1-Year Retrospective Report

G-CEM ONE™ – 1-Year Retrospective Report

Description

G-CEM ONE is a universal resin cement that can be utilized for all cementation procedures.

  • Indicated for cementation of all types of ceramics, resin and metal-based inlays, onlays, veneers, crowns and bridges. Also indicated for cementation of fiber posts and cast post and cores.
  • Excellent bond strength to enamel and dentin and to all indirect restorative substrates.
  • Option of Adhesive Enhancing Primer (AEP) for the GC Touch Cure to enhance the bond strength in challenging situations.  Also helps by increasing moisture and saliva tolerance.
  • Exceptional self-curing to assist when using thick or opaque restorations.
  • Available in 4 shades:  A2, Translucent, AO3, and BO1 (White Opaque)

Clinical Evaluation Protocol

A total of 153 restorations were reviewed multiple times over 12 months. Items that were directly reviewed were the location of the restorations, the substrate being bonded to, the usage of a light-cured or self-cured bonding adhesive, the level of initial and sustained esthetics, potential debonding, and appearance of marginal discoloration.

Clinical Observations

  • The use of the Adhesive Enhancing Primer (AEP) was easy to use and appears to work well in difficult situations. The self-curing AEP procedures were 100% successful, while the procedures involving G-Premio BOND™ were 98% successful.
  • An esthetic success rate of 91% and maintenance of that ideal esthetics at 95% after 1 year is fantastic. High confidence can be expressed when using these materials in any area of the mouth and with any restorative substrate.

Evaluators’ Comments

  • “Truly universal for all dental restorations, posts, especially considering the increased bond strength with the Adhesive Enhancing Primer.”
  • “Very easy to use cement, sets predictably, and the excess cleans off easily.”
  • “Excellent for short clinical crown height preparations.”
  • “It was a relief and joy to use this cement to seat thin lithium disilicate crowns because it was easy to create a perfect shade match that would not color shift after curing.”

Dental Advisor Research Reports

Bond Strength Testing of a Universal Cement System to Teeth

G-CEM ONE had a stronger adhesion to dentin and enamel when using the Adhesive Enhancing Primer (AEP) than when using G-Premio BOND in a self-etch protocol.  There was also no significant reduction in the adhesive properties after artificial aging.

Bond Strength Testing of G-CEM ONE

G-CEM ONE performed as well, or better, than competitive materials that were tested in the self-adhesive protocols.  When the Adhesive Enhancing Primer (AEP) was used, the bond strength to both enamel and dentin maintained the highest shear bond strength.  This was also true when bonding to lithium disilicate and zirconia.
