Description
ALL-BOND® 3 is a 4th-generation, dual-cured, universal dental adhesive system that is compatible with all dental materials. Compared to its predecessor, ALL-BOND 2, it is ethanol-based and reportedly more hydrophobic to improve bond durability. ALL-BOND 3 is packaged with ALL-BOND 3 RESIN, a low-viscosity bonding resin that will outline the restoration radiographically for evaluation of margin integrity. This system is recommended for direct composite restorations, composite core build-ups, desensitization of crown preparations and exposed roots, indirect restorations, endodontic posts, porcelain/ composite repair, and composite/amalgam interfaced restorations. ALL-BOND 3 comes as liquid A & B in 6-ml bottles; ALL-BOND 3 RESIN in two, 1.5-g syringes; and accessories. Detailed printed instructions for all uses are provided. Thirty-one consultants evaluated ALL-BOND 3 in over 500 restorations. This product received a 92% clinical rating.
Product Features
ALL-BOND 3 is packaged in a complete kit with good instructions. The versatility of the system, as well as the lack of postoperative sensitivity and predictability of the outcome, is ideal for a 4th-generation bonding agent. The wettability and radiopacity are also very good. The HEMA-free formulation was appreciated by consultants as was the hydrophobicity and radiopacity. As this is a 4th-generation bonding agent, there were some negative responses from consultants about the number of steps and that the etching with phosphoric acid was required. These steps are consistent with other 4th-generation bonding agents. All consultants reported that ALL-BOND 3 was equal to or better than the material they were currently using. Seventy-eight percent of consultants would recommend ALL-BOND 3 to their colleagues.
