Description

ELITE Implant is a radiopaque, addition silicone impression material indicated for implant impressions. It is provided in sterile packaging for use in a surgical field, as well as for implant impressions in non-surgical situations. The radiopacity of the impression material allows for rapid radiographic identification of any fragments of material accidentally left inside the oral cavity during impression making. ELITE Implant is available in three viscosities: heavy, medium, and light. The heavy- and medium-viscosity consistencies are available in a sterile 50-ml disposable cartridge with one sterile mixing tip and one sterile intraoral tip. The light-viscosity consistency is available in a sterile 5-ml disposable cartridge with one sterile mixing tip and one sterile intraoral tip. Each viscosity has a working time of 1:30 and a setting time of 3:30. Twenty consultants evaluated ELITE Implant in over 65 implant impressions. This product received an 86% clinical rating.

Product Features

The ease of extrusion of ELITE Implant allows precise placement of the material during the impression making. In particular, the medium-body and light-body viscosities flow well around implant analogs; however, the heavy-body material displaces some of the lighter-viscosity materials and when set can make removal of the impression difficult. ELITE Implant has an adequate working time while setting in a reasonable time frame, resulting in final restorations that have a good fit. The sterile packaging and radiopacity this material are only useful in clinical situations involving an open surgical flap and therefore have limited benefit. A large amount of material tends to be left in the cartridge after one use, and the remaining material is no longer sterile. Most consultants believe ELITE Implant is useful for implant impressions in a surgical field. Seventy percent of consultants rated ELITE Implant equal to their current implant impression material. Sixty-five percent would recommend ELITE Implant, while 25% would switch.
