Description

Hydrogum is a rapid-setting, elastic, dust-free alginate. It is appropriate for use in a wide range of impression procedures in routine dental practice. Total time from start of mix to removal from the mouth is 2:40; intraoral time is 1:00. A standardized particle size is designed to provide rapid water absorption and a uniform, smoother, compact surface. Pouring of an impression may be delayed for several hours without compromising its accuracy if it is stored in a sealed bag. The product is mint flavored and has a light-green color. Hydrogum is available in a 500-g single bag or in a kit that includes a reusable storage tub, two single bags, a water measure, and powder scoop. Unopened bags have a five-year shelf life. Twenty-nine consultants evaluated Hydrogum making 361 impressions during a six-week period. This product received a 91% clinical rating.
