Description

Solventum Filtek Composite Warmer is a device designed to warm Filtek dental composites in capsules and flowable syringes to temperatures up to 70 °C (158 °F) to increase flowability and improve handling. The unit has been specifically designed for use with Filtek composites to support placement and enhance adaptation to cavity walls. Featuring a silicone sleeve for safe operation, the Solventum Filtek Composite Warmer is easy to use, requires no maintenance, and can be easily cleaned and disinfected for routine clinical use.

Unique Attributes

  • Produces consistently warmed composite that improves flow, adaptation, and ease of placement, particularly for injection molding, bulk filling, and deep preparations.
  • Compact, low-profile design with a small footprint that fits well in the operatory and is easy to position chairside.
  • Simple, one-button operation with intuitive use, allowing easy integration into restorative workflows with minimal training.
  • The removable composite holder maintains heat and can be moved and used at point of care.
  • Quick initial heat-up time of 10 minutes, warms capsules in 2 minutes after preheating.

Clinical Tips from Evaluators

  • Turn the warmer on early (ideally at the start of the appointment or during anesthesia) to allow adequate time for the composite to reach working temperature.
  • Use slow, controlled extrusion with warmed composite, especially flowables, as material will dispense more quickly and excessive force may lead to overfilling.
  • Return compules to the warmer between increments when performing multi-layer or multi-quadrant restorations to maintain consistent handling characteristics.
  • Take care to avoid incorporating
  • bubbles when placing warmed flowable composite, as increased fluidity may increase the risk of voids if placed too aggressively.

Indications

  • Warming Filtek dental composites validated to be warmed, in capsules and flowable syringes.
