Description
The Light Fantastic III is a dental light with a hands-free sensor to turn the light on and off. The unit features a multi-faceted reflector that is designed to reflect light and allow unwanted heat to pass through the back. The miniature quartz halogen lamp lasts longer than conventional lamps and has a self-cleaning process to maintain constant light intensity. The light system also includes a three-intensity power switch and optional remote activation. Multiple mounting options are available: track, ceiling, cabinet, or wall mount. The track-mounted version was evaluated. The trolley is designed to roll freely on the track at the touch of the hand. The entire arm and light may be rotated approximately 322 degrees. The light can be adjusted from side to side and up and down according to the user’s preference. Thirteen clinical consultants used the Light Fantastic III over six months. This product received a 92% clinical rating.
Equipment Features
The Light Fantastic III received the highest ratings for convenience of the no-touch sensor, quality of the light reflector and intensity of the lamp. Consultants liked the ease of adjusting the position of the light and the range of rotation. Several consultants observed that the unit was not easy to clean and that the light cover was easily scratched during cleaning. A few consultants felt that the design of the light was dated. Ninety-two percent of consultants found Light Fantastic III to be equal to or better than their current curing light, 70% would switch, and 78% would recommend it to a colleague.

- Use a soft cloth to clean the plastic light cover to minimize scratching.
