Description

Spirit 1985 Ellipse Delivery Unit is a continental-style, over-the-patient delivery unit. The unit is chair mounted and features an elliptical style for left or right-handed positioning. The control head features all-metal construction with a hinged cover for access to internal components. Spirit 1985 Ellipse Delivery Unit has a hand-piece tubing flush system and self-contained water system with the option of city or bottled water. Three hand-piece tubings have individual adjustments for air pressure and water flow. Hand-pieces and the air/water syringe rest on a sterilizable rubber mat. The stainless steel tray includes a nonskid pad. An optional touch pad mounted on the side of the control head operates light and chair position. Ten consultants used Spirit 1985 Ellipse Delivery Unit during a nine-month evaluation period. This delivery unit received a 95% clinical rating.

Equipment Features

Spirit 1985 Ellipse Delivery Unit was evaluated on the Pelton Spirit 3000 patient chair. The unit is solidly built with smooth movement around the chair. An air brake controls the up/down motion with well-placed buttons on the control head handle for user convenience. Once positioned, the unit is stable and stays where placed. Hand-piece tubing is adequate in length to reach the patient. Consultants found that retraction of the hoses requires multiple adjustments to achieve the proper tension. Water adjustment knobs for the hand-pieces are easy to reach underneath the control head. The water on/off toggle on the foot pedal is clearly marked. Another toggle switch, located on the unit’s arm, changes the water source between bottle and city. The bottle is easy to remove and replace. Eighty-three percent of consultants found Spirit 1985 Ellipse Delivery Unit to be equal to or better than their current unit, and 100% would recommend it.
