Description
Max Bond LC is a 6th-generation (Type II) self-etching, light-cured adhesive designed to bond light-cured composite restorative materials to enamel and dentin. The Max Bond LC kit contains two bottles, Agent A and Agent B; 10 mixing wells; 50 disposable brushes; and a brush handle. A drop from each bottle must be mixed for five seconds before applying to slightly moist enamel and dentin for 20 seconds. The layer is air dried to thin it and to remove the volatile components and then light cured for 10 seconds before the composite is placed. Max Bond LC was evaluated by 22 consultants placing over 450 restorations. This product received an 87% clinical rating.
Product Features
Max Bond LC is easy to use and is packaged with well-written instructions. The material dispensed efficiently from the two-bottle system. Max Bond LC has a fluid viscosity that can be applied smoothly to the prepared tooth surface. Once dispensed, the mixture must be used within three minutes. This working time was considered to be short by many consultants who found the material would set with ambient light and become too thick to use. Max Bond LC has a slight odor. There were some reports of cavosurface-margin staining and challenges with removing matrix bands. During the evaluation period, there were no reports of postoperative sensitivity in teeth treated with Max Bond LC. Overall, 81% of consultants found Max Bond LC equivalent to their current bonding agent, and 55% would recommend it to a colleague.
