Milliken Perimeter Reusable Barrier Protection Gowns

Milliken Perimeter Reusable Barrier Protection Gowns

Product Description

We recently received a level 1 reusable barrier protection gown made from Milliken Medical Barrier Fabrics (Milliken Textiles). These gowns are made in the USA and available in three different levels of fluid resistance (levels 1-3) meeting ANSI/AAMI PB70 standards.

Initial Insights

What are the thoughts of the Dental Advisor Initial Insights Team?

  • Great coverage. Even when sitting down the gown goes down mid-shin length (shown above – operator shown is 5’9″).
  • Only available in one size (one size fits most) that would be quite large on smaller frames.
  • Open back adds breath-ability.
  • Very comfortable, sturdy cloth material that is washable and reusable.
  • Would like cloth cuffs rather than elastic for added coverage, but arm length allowed for coverage.
  • Heavy duty material, but might get hot after a long day.

Glo Science PRO Gum Health Device

Product Description

The Glo Science PRO Gum Health Device is intended to help boost oral health and gently whiten teeth. It uses a special foam treatment with antimicrobial hydrogen peroxide, xylitol, and other compounds to reportedly reduce oral germs and to restore healthy oral pH. The device has a special LED light that warms the foam while in the mouth, causing it to volumize and fill the hard-to-reach places in the teeth and gums. After just 8 minutes, it can be expelled and rinsed with water.

Initial Insights

  • The foam was refreshing and during use the mouth felt tingly.
  • For sensitive teeth, it can be hard to find products that don’t hurt, but Glo Pro felt gentle.
  • The foam can come out quickly, so patients might find it hard not to waste product if they don’t get the hang of it right away.
  • More sizes would be really great to have available.

Easy Flow

Product Description

Easy Flow is a small, portable air filtration system intended for use with any face mask, during work or for everyday use. It is designed to create air flow in the mask while cooling and freshening the air inside the mask. Watch one of our consultant’s videos here!

Initial Insights

  • You can position easily under a mask using the provided magnet connector.
  • I wear a level 3 mask with a level 1 over it. It gets very hot, and Easy Flow makes it much more tolerable.
  • It’s great to have options on wearing it with the clip or lanyard.

ExSense Tooth Conditioner

Product Description

Cavex Bite&White ExSense Tooth Conditioner is a mint-flavored gel created to relieve tooth sensitivity not only after tooth whitening procedures, but for sensitivity in general. ExSense Tooth Conditioner may be used as an adjunct to a normal brushing routine. It can be applied with a brush or a finger to any sensitive areas or entire arches. After 10 minutes of contact time, simply expel excess gel and rinse with water.

Here at Dental Advisor, we found that it was easy to apply the gel not only to fingers, as the instructions recommend, but also to brushes and swabs, for those hoping to keep fingers away from the mouth!

Initial Insights

  • The mint flavor is nice and mild. The aftertaste is pleasant.
  • It was slightly sticky while on my teeth but there wasn’t any residue left after rinsing.
  • I liked the consistency – it didn’t drip or slide around.

Safe-T-Shield™

Product Description

Ergonomic Product Safe-T-Shield™ is intended for use as a barrier between patient and clinician, capturing aerosol and spatter that gets past the HVE. It consists of a wheeled machine that is placed to the side of the patient, and a moveable arm that arches over the chair to hold the shield between the patient and clinician.

Initial Insights

Patient Comment: “Having this shield over my face didn’t noticeably affect my visit. I could hear it but it wasn’t unlike any other procedure.”

Clinician Comment: “A 45° or 90° HVE tip fits very well under the shield.”
